I am amazed at p3 is going so well.

My first week on P3 I fluctuated up and down. but once I got into the hang of eating full fat food.
not worrying about weighing and measuring and just eating till I felt satisfied, I got into my GROOVE. I have been between 195 and 196.8 all week this week.

Yesterday, I ate stuff that really wasn't what I would consider "ON PLAN"
I ate a crab Rangoon. and 2 buffalo chicken tenders with celery and blue cheese.
Then ate P3 crackers and cheese.
I even went completely off plan and had a Activia Greek yogurt, that has sugar in it.

and This morning....196.8.

Granted I drank about 5 bottles of water yesterday. I had salad for dinner with cheese and tuna on it, due to the crap lunch I ate.
and still within 2 lbs of LIDW.

I am almost scared to go back to P2. I can't possibly do as well....right?
Well no! I am not going to let myself think this way.
I have help, some great people on a Facebook page that talk straight, cut you  slack when you mess up, buck you up, and cheer you on!!

And since I really enjoyed that yogurt the other day, but really want to stick to plan, I made my own yogurt from skim milk (less lactose) and with NO sugar.
It came out great. I added some coconut milk to one small batch. I added vanilla and some chia seeds to another batch. and kept the left over whey off the greek yogurt batch I made. I am using it to add to pea protein shakes to up the protein even more.

I am feeling really accomplished right now!!

Chineese food and CAKE....P3 style!

Made my stir fried "Rice" tonight.  I really wanted Chinese food. So I made my own. I shredded cabbage and onion in a separate pan and added cooked shrimp and some chicken sausage.
It was like having my own take out shrimp chow mein with stir fried rice.
I weighed in at my LIDW this morning.
this afternoon I had salad topped with left over fish from dinner last night
and ended the day by making chocolate coffee cup cake.
Yes it isn't a nice chocolate chip cookie, but it wasn't bad. I topped it with some Walden Farms caramel. it was like a cheat, but not. LOL

Rice! "sort of"

So last night I made Chicken with sweet potato, butternut squash, sliced onion, and peppers.
sliced the chicken into strips and tossed with 3 garlic cloves chopped finely, a touch of coconut oil, oregano, parsley and chili pepper flakes.
Baked for 1 hour.
OMG so good, this would be P2 friendly if you left out the sweet potato and squash.
For P3 I make cauliflower rice. which is shown in the photo topped with this recipe.
I steamed a cauliflower, then chopped up finely, tossed with a bit of butter and seasoned with salt and pepper.
My husband loved it.

I haven't done another STEAK day to regulate my weight as I really felt if I went back to some salads for lunch, and cut back on the NUTS and hummus, I would come back down.
And I was right. I don't think on P3 we should panic and do a steak day on the day we are over 2 lbs up from Last Injection Day Weight (LIDW)
if however you go a few days and are still UP more than 2 lbs, then yes a steak day will bring you back down a few lbs.

Reviews of new stuff! - LaraBar - Go Raw and BLK

LaraBar, for P3.  There is no wheat or sugars added
Ingredients are unsweetened coconut, Almonds, cashews and extra virgin coconut oil  for the Coconut cream bar.

The Lemon Bar is Dates, Cashews, almonds, lemon juice concentrate.
They are tastey, and everything in them is allowed on P3.
I have eaten them for breakfast with no gain.
There is only one that had something I think oats...that was not allowed on P3, so I didn't buy that one.

This is a new water I found in my local Price Chopper, it was tastey and is made with stevia!  no chemicals or anything we can't have. Woot!

Go Raw - this company makes alot of stuff I have found in my local Price Chopper.  They make these Great pumpkin seed chips, but they have Agave Nectar in them, so I guess those can wait for P4.   However, these 2 samples had only ingredients allowed in P3!
They don't taste like a candy bar. but they do taste good!  All organic! Try them in P3 for yourself.  nice to have a quick grab and go snack.

Mock Beef-a-roni

This is my recipe for "Beef"-a-Roni.
You could actually make this with ground beef, or without meat at all.
I used ground chicken

  • 1 Tbs coconut oil or grape-seed oil
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 large eggplant
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large red onion, chopped
  • 1 large can diced tomato
  • 1 - 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • oregano, parsley, garlic powder, pepper to your taste
  • red chili flakes and a few dashes of curry powder (optional)
Brown your chicken, onion, garlic and pepper in oil until cooked thru.
Add your mushrooms, spices and tomatoes, stir well. Add your tomato sauce and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and cook for about 15 to 30 min. The longer it cooks the better the spices come thru.
Serve over spaghetti squash, topped with mozzarella cheese.

Chia Seeds

I read that Chia seeds are a great food.  That they keep you full, keep you "regular" because they are high in fiber. Can lower your blood pressure and regulate your blood sugars.  they have 3 times the antioxidants than blueberries.  High in Omega-3 fatty acids. packed with calcium, contain the mineral boron that helps the body absorb calcium and have 3 times the amount of iron than spinach.
Basically these little things should have a big RED S on their little tiny shells!!!
So I bought some from Amazon (be sure you buy organic Chia seeds, and do not buy from China according to many web sites)
I bought TruVibe 100% organic Raw chia seeds.

Chia seed pudding.
I had this with strawberries in it for breakfast. It was really tasty, had a tiny bit of crunch to it...but that might have been the strawberry seeds.

I mixed 1 Cup Almond Milk, with 1/4 Cup chia seeds 1/2 tsp vanilla, and 2 drops of stevia.
I let sit for 5 min. and stirred well.  let sit for another 5 min and stir again.
Then refrigerated overnight.  it was a nice pudding consistency.
I will be making some more when I get home.

You can also mix 1 Tbsp of chia seeds in 3 Tbsp of water and use in recipes in place of an egg.
Or add to smoothies to thicken them. There seems to be a ton of uses for them, and they are good for you and great as an appetite suppressant.  Be sure to drink plenty of water when you are eating them as they absorb allot of water.

New recipes - Sunflower crackers and "townhouse crackers" P3 freindly

So I decided that I wanted to make "crackers" for a party I will be attending that I will be able to eat the dip...because on Phase 3 I can have sour cream, cream cheese and the other ingredients my neice said she is putting in the dips.   but I can't eat the crackers...
Both of these recipes are about 90 calories for 5 - 6 crackers.
So here is my 2 recipes:
Sunflower Seed crackers

  • 1 cup Sunflower seeds (shelled, salted)
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup water
In a food processor pulse dry ingredients until fine.
Add water 2 Tbsp at a time until a soft dough is formed and balls together
dump out onto parchment paper or aluminum foil
top dough with wax paper to keep it from sticking to the rolling pin
Roll out to 1/4 inch thick.   push edges back in toward dough so they are not thinner than the rest of the dough or they will burn.   be sure it is an even thickness from middle to edge.  remove wax paper and discard.
Score dough with pizza cutter or butter knife, into 50 - 60 squares
Bake at 325 for 20 -25 min until golden brown. Turn off oven, leave door closed and leave crackers in oven for 15 more minutes to crisp up.
Remove from oven and break apart at score marks.
eat plain or with your favorite dip.

Recipe for "Townhouse Crackers":
  • 3/4 C almond flour
  • 2 tsp granular splenda or equivalent of stevia
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 Tbsp butter or coconut oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional)
Mix all of the ingredients well in a small bowl. Put the dough on a well greased sheet of heavy duty foil. Cover the dough with a piece of wax paper that's been sprayed with nonstick spray. roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Be sure to roll out evenly or the edges will burn before the middle is baked.  You can lift up the wax paper and reshape the dough to as close to a rectangle as possible, replace wax paper and  roll out evenly.  Peel off the wax paper and discard. score dough with pizza cutter or wavy edged ravioli cutter.  lift aluminum foil and place on a cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 10 - 15 minutes.   check after 8 min. and if the edges are getting too brown, gently break those off  at the score marks and remove from oven.  continue to bake the rest of the crackers until golden brown.

allow to cool and break apart at score marks. Makes about 48 crackers.
Can be frozen.
(do not top with salt after dough is rolled or they will be too salty)

Phase 3 Here I come!

This morning I weighed in at 194.6.   that is 31.2 down.
I was so confused at what I would eat this morning. I am so stuck on an apple and coffee for breakfast.
so I chose an omlet with mushroom, onion and bacon! it was AWESOME now I am too full. LOL
My last injection day weight to stay within + or - 2 is going to be 195.5

I dropped to 194.6 due to running around like a crazy woman the last 2 days after my LID.
I helped plan and set up a wedding reception and it was a ton of work, I didn't even eat dinner on Saturday.

So tonight I am going to make Mock Beef-a-roni
with ground chicken and eggplant. I will start posting my P3 meals and weights, keeping my fingers crossed that stabilization will be as uncomplicated as P2 this time.

Our Bodies are WEIRD and Fickle!!

So after 3 days of eating completely clean, and on plan. with absolutely no Artificial sweeteners, not even stevia. I was still at 198 lbs.
Last night I got my order from Amazon for TruVibe Chia seeds and TruVibe organic Cacao Powder.
So I really wanted to make some chocolate delight with the Cacao Powder. (I know I have to wait for P3 for the chia seeds)
So made an awesome spinach omelet with just a tiny bit of chopped cherry tomato.
Then had strawberries with my CD over them.  It was so much better with the Cacao Powder!!!

This morning I am down 1.4 lbs.   Woot Woot.
AND TOM arrived this morning too. I am thinking if it weren't for TOM I would have been down 3#.

Tomorrow is my Last Injection day. I am going to eat POP for the next 3 days, then I will be in Phase 3!!!
Looking forward to avacados and broccoli!\

made Crab "cakes"

They were more like crab patties that fell apart.
I think I could have used more egg whites and in P3 will add some cheese,
but they were tastey.
8 oz imitation crab meat
lemon juice
1 ground up melba toast
1/2 C chopped red onion
Old bay seasoning
1 egg white beaten
1/4 C yellow mustard

mixed it all together, made 6 crab patties, and fried them in Pam in a large skillet
maybe next time I will bake or broil them.

no loss this morning.

Helloooooo ONEderland!!!

woot woot! I am down 2.2 lbs this morning. FINALLY under 200 lbs.
Today 198.0

Got my Walden Farms order yesterday!!
I will review some of them later.
Here is a review of what I did try:
Onion dip on some celery, it was very good. it tasted just like Onion dip.
Also had Peanut Butter spread on some celery...ok this is just meh!
it is a gel consistency not thick like peanut butter.
But since it is mostly plant derivative and not really made from peanuts I guess that is to be expected. It did however taste just like peanut butter, the consistency just throws you off.
In P4 I think it would great on bread or crackers for a 0 calorie alternative to peanut butter.

I also took some of the chocolate dip with me out to the movies last night and ate it with apple slices as an alternative to get junk at the concession counter.
I also took 2 bottles of water and some lemon with me.

I am going to wait to try the alfredo sauce till P3 and have it with Shirtaki noodles.
did not try the barbeque sauce yet either.

Walden Farms order arrived today

The first photo shows the Walden Farms Blue cheese dressing.
Ok this I really liked. it is thinner in consistency than regular blue cheese dressing but tasted great.
I made a nice salad with lobster bits on it, and put about 2 T of dressing over all.

It was yummy

Add entire mixture to blender (or use immersion blender) blend until smooth.  (I left a little bit of celery and leek pieces out so there were a few chunks in the soup.)
Ready to serve as is. OR:
Add shrimp and cook on med for 10 min. and enjoy!

The "Rice Incident"

So I was up a bit from the fondue on Saturday. The plan was to get back to Protocol.

Then the inevitable happened.  My husband made his African rice dish "Jollof"
Dum Dum Dum...... (insert pregnant pause)

That rice dish is made with steak and spices and awesome sauce.
So on Sunday, I had my coffee and brought an apple for my meeting after church.
I planned to be sooooo good.
BUT... when I got home and walked through the door,
It hit my nose with wonderful smells and called me by my FIRST NAME!!!
I resisted, I made a nice sauteed rice with tofu noodles and spinach. I ate some of it...
THEN another entity took over my body and I caught myself sneaking a bite of the rice dish, then another!!!
So I said to myself, This is nuts!! You are not a child, you are NOT a slave to temptation and food.
(I tend to talk to myself when I go a little nuts)
I made myself a small bowl of the Jollof, with steaky saucy goodness, and sat down and ate it...like a grown up!
It was heavenly.  I enjoyed it and moved on.
I didn't eat THREE bowls of it, like I might have in the past. I had the one bowl and enjoyed it.

So yes I was up on the scale Monday.
But I got right back on plan, perfectly on plan, with lots of water.
Today I am back down.  I threw off my losses for a few days with these off plan distractions.
But if I kick myself, it will do no good, it is done. There is no reliving the past.
So we move on.

I think the oreo eating, sugar and carb craving child in me may have just grown up a bit today!

Happy Birthday MOM

So today for my Mother's birthday we did fondue.
Now I KNOW this is not on plan, and I going to have salad and the meat.
But it is meat cooked in Grapeseed oil.  so I am anticipating a stall or a gain.
However, I am not going to NOT participate in events just to lose weight.
I will make BETTER choices than if I were not on this protocol, but I know I will be going rouge today.

So, today's foods are NOT recommended choices for those sticking to the plan
but I am putting them on here so I know what I did.

Breakfast: Coffee, apple
Lunch...at 2 pm
Fondue - steak, shrimp and salmon cooked in fondue pot in Grapeseed oil
Salad w/ Walden Farms dressing
Dinner - Salad w/ strawberries

New Recipe!

I am down one lb today. decided on a new Recipe. Here it is:

Shrimp stir fry w/ noodles
So I decided I wanted chineese food tonight.
but still on P2, so I made this! it was so good I could have totally over did it, but kept it to one portion

  • 4 oz salad shrimp, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup asparagus
  • 2 T chopped scallion
  • 1 T grated ginger
  • 1 T chopped lemon grass
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1/2 package tofu Miracle noodles, rinsed and drained
  • 2 T liquid aminos
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
Saute scallion, garlic, asparagus and cabbage in coconut oil until just starts to get limp
add shrimp, and liquid aminos stir fry until any liquid starts to evaporate, add lemon grass and miracle noodles. Stir fry until heated thru.  **This recipe is NOT P2 approved. MANY people stall on Shiritai noodles. **

rinse noodles

Yes I know this is a bit rouge. if you don't mix veggies it is on plan for P2.  but since I used a small amount of the veggies it usually works for me.   Miracle noodles is not listed on P2 either, but I find I still lose with them, these are the spaghetti type. I liked them more than the fettucini ones.

add noodles and cook thru
